Kim Kardashian’s Robbery Triggers Cheryl Underwood’s Memory of Being Sexually Assaulted
Sheryl Underwood 53, actress, comedienne, and cohost of The Talk recently opened up about being sexually assaulted after just finishing college. On the most recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim Kardasian West retold the events when she was bound, gagged, held at gunpoint and robbed in Paris. While doing through the ordeal Kim recalls having a ‘this is it” moment.
Sheryl recalls also having that exact moment.
“I looked at the footage with Kim and in her retelling the story, she looks traumatized. But for her to go through that process and try to think her way through it, I remember having a ‘this is it‘ moment when I was raped.”
In that moment, Underwood said she even began “negotiating” with her rapist not to kill her. With tears in her eyes an emotional Underwood spoke to women with encouragement:
“I really want women to understand: Don’t ever let anybody take your power away from you.”
Unfortunately Sheryl’s rapist was never caught. You can watch the emotional segment in full below. Grab some tissues:
Prayers to Cheryl and anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault.
