#BuyBlack: Three Black-Owned Cosmetics Companies You Need To Try Right Now

When I first began blogging, 5 years ago this month, I was a beauty blogger. Today, I don’t place myself in any specific niche, but I can say makeup, and really anything beauty-related, will always have a place on this blog. I love makeup. I love all makeup, and I especially love makeup that is made with women of color in mind.

I’ve featured black owned cosmetics brands on this blog quite a bit (read my expansive list HERE), but these three brands hold a special place in my heart. I’ve gotten to know the owners personally, and I know how much care and attention goes into creating every single handmade product. Okay, enough gushing. let’s take a look at the brands:

Sereniti Bath Body and You

Owned and operated by Renee, an esthetician, this brand is known for the most amazing skincare on the planet. My personal favorite item is the red velvet body scrub.

Iviviiv Cosmetics

Owned and operated by Makeup artist, and work-from home Mom, Samantha, this brand’s highlighters are out-of-this-world. The newest shade, Pegasus, will have you glittering from a mile away.

These highlighters are soft as butter and beyond pigmented. I also highly recommend The Mermaid Splash Quad. Shop nd use code LISA to save 10%.

Pink Stiletto Cosmetics (Shop HERE and use code LISA15 to save 15%):

Own and operated by Crystal Carmen, this line of handmade, cruelty-free cosmetics is one you won’t soon forget. I’ve had the privlege of trying both her lip whips (highly pigmented glosses), and now her newest release, Matte liquid Lipsticks.

They are highly pigmented, dry quickly, and look gorgeous on my dark skin.

  1. These are great! Its nice to see influencers supporting a community and shedding light on the topic of lack of diversity! Although we have a long way to go its clear that more and more black owned businesses are coming out left and right! I have found one to be especially interesting because they support no only women of color but ALL WOMEN and MEN who love expressing themselves though makeup!! Check their website out:
