I feel as though healthy-eating has become synonymous with fad dieting and overpriced health-food stores. I’ve tried the fad- dieting and even entertained the health-food store-only route and realized that neither was conducive to my lifestyle.

I’m a work-from-home mom on a budget, and short on time. I suspect that most of you reading this post are from the same tribe. With that being said, I’ve been trying to create a realistic and budget-friendly meal routine that is helping me to maintain my weight while keeping extra dollars in the bank for family fun activities. In fact, we’re currently saving for a trip to Disney World in January. #fingerscrossed.

I’ve been a believer in Wendy’s salads for over a year. If you follow me on IG and/or Snapshot you know I’m a regular at the Wendy’s drive-thru. I’ve never been any good on the stove, so when Andre’s not feeling up to whipping up something in the kitchen, Wendy’s is my go-to. With fall in full swing and JB back to school, our schedules are tighter, our days are shorter, so yes, fast-food is a part of our lives.  I won’t ever pretend to be one of those mommy-bloggers, okay? We keep it real around these parts.

When I’ve gotta swing by to my local Wendy’s  to grab my kid a quick bite to eat, I don’t exclude myself. Wendy’s salads are the GOAT when it comes to fast-food salads, and their new Harvest Chicken Salad doesn’t disappoint.

Isn’t she lovely? This is the first time Wendy’s has introduced a fall salad to its menu, so I am here for it. Besides,  a full-size Harvest Chicken Salad contains ½ cup of fruit and 1 ¾ cups of vegetables per plate proving that you can eat on the go and be healthy.

What’s in it?

  • Brown sugar walnuts
  • Marzetti® Simply Dressed® Apple Cider Vinaigrette
  • Warm, freshly grilled chicken
  • Savory Applewood smoked bacon
  • Sweet slices of red and green apples
  • Wendy’s crisp signature lettuce blend

Calorie Count:

There are 570 calories in a Full Harvest Chicken Salad from Wendy’s. Most of those calories come from fat (37%) and carbohydrates (33%).

The full is usually too much for me, so I opt for a half, OR get a full and eat half for lunch and store the rest for dinner.

Fall is my go-to season when it comes to fashion and food. When it comes to food,  I’m here for all the fall flavors we love, apples (Gonna go apple picking next week btw), crisp salads, roasted walnuts and/or pecans, all of it.  Throw in a pumpkin spice latte, and this basic mom is in her glory, honey!  Thankfully, the Harvest Chicken Salad has a good array of the fall flavors I crave this time of year.

Even though the weather changing is an adjustment, especially for those of us in the northeast,  good eats and fall fashion is how I keep from getting the doldrums. This Harvest chicken salad will be on heavy rotation all fall, as will my culottes and headwraps, you’ll see! Oh, and don’t forget, beginning on the first day of Fall (9/22), Wendy’s will give consumers the chance to experience the delicious tastes of fall for free! 2. This reminds me that I need to lose 5 kilos and I am not ecstatic about that. :))

  3. Its not a bad salad at all. But I think rge calorie count, is it mentioned above, is stull pretty high for a salad. Especially if you yse all the dressing provided which I don’t. Its simple really, ppl who order salads are doing it for avreason— like maintaining their waistline so don’t sabotage our efforts. I love the cullottes by the way.
