Lil Jon Just Opened A School In Africa
Okay!!
We haven’t heard from Lil Jon in a good minute, and with good reason. According to the NY Daily News, the rapper spent the first week of October opening a primary school in the Asuogyaman District in eastern Ghana. He attended the opening with his family in tow.
Along with the organization Pencils of Promise, Lil Jon has been the last year raising funding to open the school.
The NY daily News reports that Pencils of Promise is a program designed to give children around the world quality education. So far, Pencils of Promise has built 414 schools.
Lil Jon Shared this photo on his Instagram page:
Yesterday was a special day for me and my family. We had a ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication of a brand new primary school in Ghana I funded along with @pencilsofpromise. I dedicated it to the Abomayaw community and to my mother. God is good.”
According to local Ghanaian radio, children had been relegated to studying outside beneath the trees or in a shed. With the opening of the Abomayaw D.A. Kindergarten, kids can now learn rain or shine.
Lil Jon has been working with Pencils of Promise since 2012.
